These terms govern how ESL Whitelist Korea is used by teachers, academies, recruiters, and other platform users.
1. Introduction
Welcome to ESL Whitelist Korea. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our platform and services.
By creating an account and selecting agreement at signup, you accept these terms.
2. Definitions
- Platform: our ESL job marketplace and related services
- User: a teacher, academy, recruiter, or other person using the platform
- Academy: an educational institution publishing job listings
- Content: any information, documents, text, images, or other materials uploaded to the platform
- Public Content: Content that a user chooses to publish or otherwise make visible outside a private application, direct communication, or restricted hiring workflow
3. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how ESL Whitelist Korea collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information, including marketing uses and user choices.
By using ESL Whitelist Korea, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.

4. User Obligations
Users agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Maintain current and accurate profile information
- Not share account credentials
- Report unauthorized account access
- Use the platform in compliance with applicable laws
5. Academy Reviews and Replies
Academy reviews share teachers’ firsthand experiences so people can understand a workplace before accepting a job. Whitelist and blacklist labels describe individual reviews, not a platform verdict or certification.
Each review or reply expresses the author’s own views and experiences. It is not a statement, finding, or endorsement by ESL Whitelist Korea.
ESL Whitelist Korea operates the review service in good faith to help teachers understand workplaces they are considering before signing an employment contract. Teachers’ firsthand experiences help other teachers make informed decisions.
- By submitting a review or reply, the author confirms that it complies with these Terms and the review rules and accepts responsibility for its content, accuracy, and lawfulness.
- Authors are responsible for the reviews and replies they submit
- Reviews must describe firsthand experience, distinguish facts from opinions, and be accurate to the best of the author's knowledge
- Reviews and replies must not impersonate another person or organization or include personal names, contact details, threats, harassment, doxxing, rumors, or unsupported criminal allegations
- Reviews and replies are publicly anonymous but privately linked to an account for ownership, moderation, and abuse handling
- Any signed-in user may submit one flat reply per review; replies do not create nested discussions or receive academy, employer, manager, or verified badges
- Authors must not make an affiliation claim they cannot support. ESL Whitelist Korea does not independently verify or endorse any affiliation claim
- We may review, reject, redact, remove, restore, or delete reviews and replies under our moderation rules and will record material moderation changes and reasons
- Anyone may report content or request correction or removal; a dispute alone does not require removal, but we may act after confirming a rule violation or receiving a binding legal order
- Authors may edit or delete their native content; deletion removes the public body immediately and leaves only a private audit tombstone needed for abuse handling and accountability
5A. Complain to Dubu community wall
Complain to Dubu is an optional, unauthenticated community wall for general venting. It is not a place to report an academy, recruiter, coworker, student, or other identifiable person or organization.
- Submissions that pass automated or human review appear publicly with Dubu's reply and minute-level send times, but without a name or account. Anonymous display does not make a submission private.
- Do not submit names, identifiable people or schools, contact details, threats, hate, sexual exploitation, doxxing, or information that could reasonably identify a target. Profanity and non-targeted venting are allowed.
- We may use automated checks and human review to publish, hold, reject, or remove a submission. Checks classify content only. They do not rewrite or translate it.
- Dubu answers with an AI-generated conversational reply. The reply is not therapy or medical advice.
- After submitting, the browser receives a private deletion capability. Anyone with that capability can remove both the confession and Dubu's reply. Clearing browser storage or changing devices may make it unavailable, but support may still review a removal request.
- Complain to Dubu confessions and replies are excluded from advertisements, social posts, AI repackaging, and other off-platform marketing reuse.
6. Academy Obligations
Academies agree to:
- Provide accurate job listings and school information
- Use teacher information solely for hiring purposes
- Maintain confidentiality of applicant information
- Respond to applications within reasonable timeframes
- Comply with relevant labor and education laws
7. Platform Rights and Limitations
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or terminate services with notice
- Remove inappropriate content or users
- Update these terms with notification to users
- Verify academy and user information
8. Intellectual Property
- Users retain rights to their uploaded content
- Users grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license limited to storing, processing, moderating, and displaying their content inside the service. We may translate interface framing around a review or reply, but this license does not let us rewrite or translate the submission as though the result were the author's own words.
- For Public Content other than academy reviews and replies, users grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, display, crop, format, and use that content to demonstrate, promote, and market ESL Whitelist Korea.
- Academy reviews and replies are excluded from advertisements, social posts, AI repackaging, and other off-platform marketing unless the author separately opts in.
- This marketing license does not apply to private application materials, direct communications, identity documents, or content whose visibility is restricted to hiring participants.
- Users may withdraw permission for future marketing use by unpublishing the content or contacting support. This may not require us to recall materials already produced or distributed.
- Platform content and features are our intellectual property unless otherwise stated
9. Liability and Disclaimers
- We are not responsible for hiring decisions or employment outcomes
- We do not guarantee job placement
- We are not liable for disputes between users and academies
- We do not independently verify every academy or user submission
10. Term and Termination
- Users may delete their accounts at any time
- We may suspend or terminate accounts for terms violations
- Data retention obligations may continue after termination where required
