I was a teacher at MASAN POLY for about 4 years. My wife taught there with me but after we had our two daughters she stopped. I say this because if it wasnt for the [redacted] we wouldnt have survived as a family of 4.
They always took care of us and I mean everything hospital visits and calls, dentist, restaurants etc. any other things that requires extra help they not only did but never asked for anything didnt hold it over our head. When the [redacted] left with the [redacted]. Then [redacted] became the director with [redacted]. [redacted] was always a teacher there and probably the best Korean teacher at the school. Always eager to help the foreign staff always had a smile always offered help just a genuinely good person. Most of the Korean teachers at this school act the same and really go out of their way to show care with everyone.
I wasnt sure about [redacted] at first but then I saw what of director he was. He encouraged the teachers and staff when things were low he celebrated us when things were good. When we had emergencies that required hospital he was more concerned with our health rather than when we would come back. He listens he is not overly strict he only excepts for you to do your job well and ask for help if you cant. I cant say enough how much [redacted] and [redacted] helped my family as we transitioned back yo the states after 10 years. We were already so stressed and he really came with a warm heart and lightened our load. I know you read alot of bad reviews about this school and Im not here to talk about them but maybe you should remember there is always two sides to a story and a school.
We all read Hagwon Blacklist but what about when that school turns around for the better they deserve a second chance. The management at this school deserve a second chance so does the school.
No school is perfect thats true but I would take MASAN Poly over any other hagwon because atleast they care about your wellbeing not just when you are valuable to them. See for yourself you will work hard but if you are paid on time and treated with respect and have an apartment close by then thats a win. I worked at many hagwons in my 10 years in Korea and this one is still the one that made my family feel truly at home in Korea.
Contract details: they start about average pay in Korea
Housing: Very close to the school and the apt my wife and I were in was renovated.
Transportation: There is a bus that costs a few bucks that goes to Busan in 30 min. Trains to Seoul or overnight bus. Taxis are cheap and the housing is 5 min walk from school.
Accessibility: TONS of stores nearby, also hospitals in the same building as school and even a professional baseball stadium across the street
