Please please avoid applying. (Lengthy post sorry)

This kindergarten is understaffed, money driven and prides itself with hiring South Africans who are already in the country because xxxxxxxx. [redacted] This means no job security for teachers and simply wasting out time. There is no curriculum and states that it is a theme based academy where you must keep producing material, externally source worksheets or even make your own on Canva and lesson plan daily based on the weekly theme because it is just an unstructured pipe dream that we must work hard to fulfil. So many unrealistic expectations as you do cooking, P.E, science, English and theme events. There are constant unnecessary meetings, passive aggressive messages and micromanagement as they constantly just disrespectfully barge into your classroom or peep through your window every chance they get.

The advert will state that you have 22 working days vacation which seems generous for a hagwon but instead it's just [redacted] since we ended up with 5 because weekends and public holidays were counted.

In just 5 months, 5 South African teachers have left (including 2 this week) after months of gaslighting, love bombing, deceit, poor cheap housing, lack of boundaries, moodiness, exploitation, manipulation and micromanagement we experienced. Still no payslips, signed contract and honest communication despite constant meetings. Please do not consider applying here, I know times are tough but no one should have to endure this it's not worth it. It'll be good for the first or two months max then goes downhill once you catch on then the anxiety and burn out will be real. DON'T DO IT, it's a sailing ship.
