I'd like to add an American Stem Prep in Songdo to the blacklist. It sounds like an international school, but it's actually just another academy. They run crazy theories that their school is better than other places without being overworked and treated properly. This place has a very high turnover rate (both Korean and foreign employees) and teachers leave this school even in the middle of the semester. You have to start your day with stress in this unorganized school, and the second contract is never kept. They try to make you feel guilty by listing their own reasons that are not reasonable, deceiving, and ridiculous. Another big problem is the inefficient and unprofessional xxxxxxx, which encourages competition among teachers and always creates problems. Xxxxxxx do not speak English, and it is difficult to trust them due to a lack of transparency in information. In addition, CCTV monitoring shows the quality of the teacher, driving it as if there is no quality of the teacher, [redacted] Xxxxxxxx is also hard to communicate with and there is a lack of direction, with things always changing at the last minute.
The biggest problem with this school is that xxxxxx don't know how to run it. [redacted] However, it is quite unusual for a school to be "unknown" for any part of the curriculum. In every way, this is not considered a school due to huge structural and basic instability, and working here was the worst.
I recommend staying away from this school as much as possible.
I recommend not working here, and if you are considering working here, I highly recommend that you reconsider. Although it is an international school, it has no system and is worse than any academy or hagwon. Because there is no clear system, there is always chaos and drama and unnecessary stress on teachers as things are changed or decided at the last minute. They have no set curriculum for many of their classes. There is a *****, but there is only the position. There is a lack of any sort of leadership role, so there is always a lot of confusion. There is also a lack of financial resources, so it does not matter why teachers need supplies. When they request the items they need, the administrative staff decides if they need it. Teachers feel burdened by requesting to buy materials, so they often purchase class items at their own expense. Therefore, you would feel uncomfortable buying things. When a teacher is absent due to illness or other reasons and there is a cover class, the ****** has a lack of planning and seems to favor certain teachers when choosing a substitute teacher. The ****** always encourages confusion in relationships with people by [redacted]. As for the contract part, they try to play tricks and not follow the contract closely. When teachers take measure to sort out the problems, they make ridiculous jokes because they just follow the contracts from the headquarters. The ownership is incompetent and has no idea how to run the school. They also don t organize parent teacher conferences and have teachers do many meetings during their break time, not allowing them adequate time to plan for their classes. There is also no consideration in scheduling to make life easier for teacher. Loading many classes on one day and putting all break times on another day. With all of this chaos, there has been a high turnover rate with both administration and teachers, with nearly no returning members from when the school first opened. It is ridiculous that a place without an elementary school system is expanding to middle and high schools.
At first glance the school seems to be an International school but is far from it. If you thought you had great mental health this school will prove you wrong. After teaching at this school you will doubt your abilities as a teacher and leave teaching all together. [redacted] You will be gaslighted to the extent that you will go home believing everything that has been said. The school's approach is that they pay your salary so they own you and that includes your personal time. Favoritism is a huge thing. You will be treated based on how much you are liked. No ownership will be taken for things that has been said or agreed upon. Please remember this is a business! The school has an extremely [redacted]
